There are many reasons clients receive spam.
1. Once you have a website with a contact email address, visitors and server bots which scan the internet looking for email address will put your email address on lists.
2. Any site you visit and signup using your email address could put your email address on a million lists.
3. Your domain name has a contact email address in the whois, that information is freely available to anybody.
4. We at digitalhost do not stop specific emails (unless requested) going through our servers, to do so would not only risk you losing important emails and its not our place to decide which emails you receive.
In your Cpanel you have mail filter setup and further you can :blackhole: certain email addresses if you wish and create yourself a new email account, the :blackhole: setup in cpanel is simple and all it does is let email come to that address and be automatically deleted.
